Maya the Bee buzzed onto UK screens in January this year being shown on Tiny Pop three times a day during the week and twice at the weekend. This is a remake of the classic TV series Maya the Bee which was first aired in 1975 and is based on the 1912 book by Waldemar Bonsels ‘Maya and her adventures’. Maya is a young bee who has left her hive to discover the beauty and mysteries of nature. As she explores the meadow where she lives, she meets other insects living there, plays to her heart’s content and shares her joy with her friends! Her friends include her sidesick Willy (cue sniggers from kiddywinks), Flip the grasshopper, The Queen, Ben the dung beetle, Miss Cassandra (Maya’s teacher), Barry the fly and Imogen’s favourite Beatrice the butterfly.
Maya the Bee is a beautifully animated series that Joseph has become quite hooked on. It is shown on Tiny Pop (Sky 617, Virgin 737 and Freesat 605) at 8.15am, 1.30pm and 6pm weekdays and 10.30am and 6pm. There are plenty of printable activity sheets over on the Maya the Bee Facebook page as well.
We’re giving Me and My Kiddywinks readers the chance to win one of three May the Bee Plush toys in our latest competition! To enter simply do so via Rafflecopter below, good luck!
I’ve spoken on this blog many a time before about how I’d love to transform our overstuffed attic into a playroom for the kiddywinks and now I am thrilled to be able to say that we’ve done it! Well to a certain degree there are still things to be sorted, storage being a major issue. But for now they have somewhere to play independently, watch what they want to on TV or play on the Wii.
One of the things I didn’t think about though was keeping an eye on them two floors up. Most of the time I sit up stairs and join in the fun and games but there are times when they don’t want me around or there are simply other things that need to be done. We had recently been discussing baby monitoring cameras so that I could watch what they were doing and then the opportunity arose to review the Watchbot 3.0 camera.
Here’s our video review….
The Watchbot is a great camera with a huge range of uses from anything from home or holiday home security, baby monitoring or even as a nanny cam! The Watchbot 3.0 is available in black or white at the amazing price of just £149.95.

Imogen still watches and enjoys her Prima Princessa presents The Nutcracker DVD that she received at the end of last year, so she was highly excited when the latest UK release arrived from Prima Princessa “Sleeping Beauty”. Imogen loves the story of The Nutcracker but with two of her favourite things ballet and a princess and I knew we’d be on to a winner!
The DVD has the same format as The Nutcracker showing excerpts of Sleeping Beauty performed by The Royal Ballet with narration by Prima Princessa (an animated fairy). There are also lots of Prima Princessa Ballerinas that join in the fun, frilled up to the max in some fabulous girly costumes. There are also mini ballet demonstrations on different ballet steps by the students of the School of American Ballet, something Imogen finds very useful and follows very seriously.
She loves getting dressed up in her ballet shoes and sometimes a tiara and joining in usually making a grand entrance from the hall.
Both Prima Princessa DVD’s have really helped Imogen with her ballet and seeing as she has her first exam coming up in the Autumn she need all the help she can get!
Prima Princessa Presents Sleeping Beauty is also packed with loads of extras including lots of craft activities which Imogen was keen to do over the Easter holidays. At £5.99 (available from Amazon) it’s a lovely treat that is bound to thrill and entertain over and over again.
Prima Princessa are also giving one of our lucky readers the chance to win a copy in our latest completion, to enter do so via Rafflecopter below. a Rafflecopter giveaway
When we started our journey as Graco Ambassadors Joseph was a tiny 7 weeks old, 2 years later he’s a walking, sort of talking little boy. Alas, it is now time to hang up the Graco hat We’ve had lots of fun during our Graco journey and here are a few of the highlights.
We’re saying goodbye in style though with a fabulous giveaway as Graco are giving Me and My Kiddywinks the chance to win a Graco Sweetpeace.
The Sweetpeace uses innovative, patented motion technology to simulate a mother’s real soothing movements to help relax little ones. The motion moves little ones from side to side, as parents do, as opposed to just back and front making baby feel especially comforted. As well as featuring six speeds, the two speed vibrations tailor the movement to help with all moods over, from lively to sleepy.
Baby can be kept amused with an MP3 plug-in connection ready to play favourite songs, along with the pre-loaded high quality sounds, this unique audio experience promotes early learning, as well as a baby tray with mirror, teether and soft toy to help baby entertained.
The Sweetpeace is very flexible so can be used as a soother or standalone rocker. The stand can be used with Graco 0+ car seats (Logico S and Junior Baby) so parents can move baby easily without any hassle. It also features a handy timer to switch off the vibration and sounds so that’s one less thing to worry about during this busy period. The Sweetpeace has a comfortable fabric in relaxing colours with a removable, translucent canopy.

” Ernie’s the name and putting out fires is the game! We’re all very organised here in WOW Town, but when there is an accident I’m always first on the scene to put out the fire and save the public. In my spare time I like to chill out with my good friends Robin, Casey and Sidney; we hang out together playing in town, but we all know that when there’s an emergency play time’s over and it’s all hands on deck!
I use my powerful motor to get to the scene quickly and my click and turn ladder helps my fire fighter driver, Jack, fight any blaze. Jack’s hand opens the back door to reveal the emergency barrier so everyone knows Ernie is ready to save the day!”
