Of all the Disney Princesses, Ariel is Imogen’s favourite so she was ever so excited when the Disney Princess Ariel’s Vanity Set arrived for her to review from Jakks Pacific.
The Vanity set is a bath toy and contains a vanity mirror with shelf that stick with two suction cups on the side of the bath. It also has a mini lipstick, perfume bottle, cream blush compact and a cream eye shadow pot. These little make up bits sit nicely in their special places on the shelf. Imogen was obviously keen to test this out straight away and so it prompted a bath at 3pm in the afternoon, why not?!
Imogen loves playing with make up and in her toddler years we had a lot of “accidents” with mine but this washes straight off with water so it was lovely to see her have a free reign. She carefully applied lipstick, blusher and eyeshadow and admired the result in the mirror afterwards.
The only problem we’ve had with this is that the film that covered the mirror when it came is really difficult to remove and there remain small bits of it around the edges of the mirror. Also, there’s not a huge amount of make in the little cases. Ours has been well used at every bath time for couple of weeks and we’ve defiantly had ours moneys worth but we’re nearly out!
We’ve always said that Imogen spends most of her time away with the fairies and just recently she really has thanks to Jakks Pacific who sent her the latest addition to their Disney Fairies collection, Sky High Periwinkle.
Periwinkle stands 4.5 inches tall and is dressed in a fabulous white, sparkly dress and has a long pair of ice blue wings made from lightweight foam to aid flight. To get Periwinkle to fly simply stand her up in the flower base and pull the string with the snowflake shaped handle and watch her fly!
Cinderella is Imogen’s favourite Disney princess and why not? Everyone loves a rags to riches story don’t they? So just imagine her face when she opened this Cinderella Jewellery Box from Jakks Pacific.
Actually, just so you don’t have to imagine, here it is!
The jewellery box takes the shapes of Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage in her trademark blue and adorned with pink bows, frills and pearls. On top sits her glass slipper and the button to open the box shows a pictures of Cinderella dressed for the ball.
The music starts the second you open the box where you are greeted by figurines of Cinderella and her Prince Charming mid dance. There are two pink shallow trays which swivel to reveal four lower, deeper compartments and the opened lid contains a safety mirror.
The Cinderella Jewellery Box also contains a blue glittery beaded bracelet with a slipper charm and a blue heart shaped gem ring, perfect for a night at the ball.
Imogen has safely stored all of her precious jewels away in hers, away from her little brother ,and just loves taking everything out, trying it on and then reorganising it.
The Cinderella Jewellery Box is available from Argos and other toy shops priced at around £29.99 and would make a wonderful gift for any princess and comes highly recommended from mine.
