The second of our nostalgic toys from John Adams was Girl’s World. As a girl, I remember opening mine on Christmas morning and being over the moon with it, Imogen was just the same.
The Girl’s World Styling Head comes with everything you need to create some fabulous hair styles including hair brush, beads, hair slides, coloured hair extensions and hair bands. Imogen got stuck straight in declaring that a makeover was needed and started brushing the Girl’s World’s long blond hair. She then added some multi coloured extensions and some clips before tying it all back in a band, beautiful!
Just like my Girl’s World many, many years ago there is a magic growing hair section at the top of the head. This works by simply loosening the tie at the back and pulling.
Both Imogen and I have had loads of fun with the Girl’s World and it’s given me a very quite model that stays still to practise my french plaits on. It’s now way perfect yet but I’m getting there, slowly! Imogen has also been presented with some old bits of her Nanna’s make up and enjoys finishing off her look with a little bit of lipstick or a smattering of sparkly eyeshadow.
Personally I think that the Girl’s World could benefit from some suction cups at the bottom to stick the base to table tops or even wooden floors and perhaps a little bag or box to put all her accessories in as these do tend to get lost. Otherwise it’s a great present for any little girl and one that is sure to bring back memories with Mum’s and Grandmas. Fingers crossed Imogen’s doesn’t end up with a haircut like mine did!
